Ohio Plein Air society's annual plein air competition

About This Event

This fall 2025 we will hold our competition in Millersburg and Homes County. The artists have their painting surfaces stamped on the back and they must create paintings within the boundaries of Holmes County. We will be using Hotel Millersburg as our home base and (weather permitting) the final judging and awards ceremony on the courthouse lawn.

Last year, 2024, we were in Millersburg and there were over 60 artists competing. We will also offer a youth category for local children. The artists are competing for over $7000.00 in prizes.

The event starts Thursday, September 18th at 4pm and ends on Sunday, September 21'st with the paintings displayed and awards announced at 1:00 pm.

It is a chance to see some of the finest artists from the state of Ohio gathered in one place.
