BERLIN, OH --The Amish Country Lodging Council distributed proceeds of $27,456.62 from its 10th Annual Christmas Cookie Tour of Inns two-day charity event, which showcased December 9 and 10, 2017.
A check of $16,473.97 was presented to Kurt Holmes, executive director of Lifecare Hospice. The designation is to provide financial aid to families needing assistance for hospice and palliative care for loved ones.
A check in the amount of $10,982.65 was presented to Darla Stitzlein of the Holmes County Education Foundation, for a contribution toward the established Christmas Cookie Tour Endowment Fund. The fund provides scholarships to regional students pursuing a degree in business or hospitality.
Chairperson, Loretta Coblentz, stated, “This tour that allows us to gather to celebrate the season also gives us the opportunity to give money to others who are struggling during very difficult times.”

Berlin Grande, Carlisle Inn Sugarcreek, Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Country Inn & Suites, Guggisberg Swiss Inn, The Inn at Walnut Creek, Oak Ridge Inn, Sugarcreek Village Inn, Wallhouse Hotel, and Zinck’s Inn.
The Christmas Cookie Tour’s mission is to benefit charities of Holmes and surrounding counties. It is an annual inn-to-inn event sponsored by the Amish Country Lodging Council, which operates under the auspices of the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce. To date, the Christmas Cookie Tour’s 10-year accumulative charity donation amount is $144,795.90.
